Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) is inviting applications for Guest Faculty positions for the 2025-26 academic session. These positions are available across various departments and schools within the university’s campuses in Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
Eligibility and Application Process
Candidates must possess a strong academic record, including a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks, along with other essential qualifications as stipulated by the UGC. A 5% relaxation in marks (from 55% to 50%) at the Master’s level is extended to SC, ST, and PH categories. The university will also provide relaxations in educational qualifications, experience, and age for reserved category candidates according to Government of India rules.

The completed application, along with all necessary supporting documents, must be submitted via email to guestfaculty25@gmail.com by 4:00 PM on June 30, 2025. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
Interview Details
The university will conduct online or walk-in interviews, and the concerned Dean of the school will announce the specific dates and times. Further guidelines regarding the interviews will be available on the university’s website. Applicants should note that merely applying and attending an interview does not guarantee engagement.
Remuneration and Engagement Terms
Guest Faculty with Ph.D. or NET qualifications will receive a remuneration of Rs. 35,000 per month. The engagement will be for the 2025-26 academic session, on a 44-day basis, or until a regular incumbent joins the post, whichever occurs earlier. HNBGU reserves the right to withdraw the offer of engagement at any time.
Important Points for Applicants
- Incomplete applications or those lacking self-attested copies of degrees, certificates, mark sheets, and experience certificates will face outright rejection.
- Only qualifications and experiences as of the application submission deadline will be considered. Subsequent changes in qualifications will not impact remuneration.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- Candidates applying for more than one department must submit a separate application form for each department.
- Departments where regular faculty appointments are anticipated through direct recruitment will generally not have guest faculties, unless an increase in student strength necessitates such arrangements.
- Departments or subjects without regular faculty will receive priority in guest faculty allocation, taking into account student strength.
