Known for its comprehensive and reliable textbooks used widely in competitive exam preparation, NCERT needs no introduction. Now, NCERT’s regional institutes are inviting applications for various teaching and non-teaching posts, and this opportunity should not be missed by those seeking a rewarding career in education.

Vacancies Across Categories and Subjects

The recent notification from NCERT’s Regional Institute of Education (RIE) Mysore includes walk-in interviews for numerous posts such as Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Primary Teachers (PRT), Work Experience Teachers, Vocational Teachers, and more. Some posts, such as Laboratory Assistant and certain work experience teaching roles, do not require B.Ed or CTET qualifications, which opens the door for many graduates who haven’t pursued teacher training courses.

PGT Posts require a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks, along with B.Ed for most subjects.

TGT Posts typically require graduation with 50% marks, B.Ed, and CTET Paper II. However, TET is not mandatory, and candidates without it are still eligible.

Work Experience Teachers in fields like Dance, Drama, Drawing, Yoga, and Computer Science have subject-specific requirements such as a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, B.Sc. in Computer Science, or a diploma in hardware and networking.

PRT and Pre-Primary Teachers need senior secondary (10+2) qualifications with 50% marks, along with D.Ed, Nursery Teacher Training, or equivalent.

Laboratory Assistants can apply with a graduation in science (PCM or CBZ combinations).

Library Assistants and Technicians require M.Lib or B.Lib degrees, with monthly salaries reaching up to ₹54,000.

The age limits vary by role, with general limits ranging from 21 to 40 years. However, reserved category candidates are given relaxation—5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC applicants.
