Vacancies and Subjects Available
Applications are being invited for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in a variety of subjects:
- PGT Subjects: Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, and Computer Science.
- TGT posts are available in Math, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Odia, Social Science, and Science.
- These teachers play a key role in keeping teaching standards high.
- They also help students grow in all areas.
- The job is part-time and based on a short-term contract.
Nature and Duration of this drive
The engagement is purely on a part-time contractual basis. Teachers will be employed either until a regular teacher is appointed or until the end of the academic session, whichever occurs earlier. This system ensures flexibility while meeting the educational demands efficiently.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications
- Candidates applying for TGT post must possess a bachelor’s degree (BA/B.Sc.) along with a B.Ed. For PGT post, a master’s degree (MA/M.Sc./M.Com) with B.Ed. is mandatory.
- For retired professionals, special consideration is given:
- Retired Principals from Kendriya Vidyalayas or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas below the age of 65 can apply for the Principal’s post.
- Retired college lecturers with requisite qualifications are also eligible.
- Minimum and maximum age limits for general applicants are 18 and 65 years respectively.
Salary Structure
The pay scale for contractual positions is consolidated and non-negotiable:
- PGTs: ₹25,000 per month
- TGTs: ₹20,000 per month
- Additional provisions apply for appointments in hard or very hard locations, potentially allowing up to ₹25,000 for TGTs.

Document Checklist

Selection and Verification Process
Document verification and suitability assessment will take place at OAV, Chamakhandi, Chatrapur:
14th May 2025 at 10:30 AM – For TGT Applicants
15th May 2025 at 10:30 AM – For PGT Applicants
Candidates are expected to appear in person for this verification process.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be done strictly on a merit basis, as determined by the district selection committee. The panel is empowered to relax certain conditions in exceptional cases.
Note that contractual teachers have no claim to permanent employment. They are not part of the OAVS cadre and will be released at the end of their term without any obligation of renewal.
