The Indian automotive market has seen a remarkable evolution in design, features, and technology over the past decade.

Leading this revolution is Tata Motors, a company that continues to push the boundaries of innovation and design. Their newest reveal, the Tata Curvv Dark Edition is making waves. It looks massive bold and loaded with premium features. Though the official pricing hasn’t been disclosed yet, let’s take a deep dive into everything this vehicle has to offer based on our exclusive walkaround and first impression review.
Bold Exterior with Striking Design
Right from the moment you glance at the Tata Curvv Dark Edition, it demands attention. Finished in a full black color scheme, this SUV coupe exudes a mafia-style vibe that’s sleek and aggressive. The front features connected DRL lights and sharp projector headlamps accompanied by fog lights, all contributing to a modern, menacing look. The chrome-accented front grille, the blacked-out radiator, and lower mesh design give it a sporty yet refined character.
It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels in black. It is paired with wide 255-section tires that offer a confident stance. Chrome detailing along the sides enhances the premium look, while the vehicle also comes with ventilated disc brakes in the front for optimal braking performance.
You’ll notice “Tata Curvv Dark Edition” badging and Curvv branding along the body. The door handles blend into the car’s design, needing manual pull action rather than popping out electronically. At the rear, the Curvv’s sloping coupe-like roof and connected tail lamps create a silhouette reminiscent of luxury SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus. Two reverse parking sensors, a high-mounted brake light, shark-fin antenna, and rear wiper round out the rear profile.
The vehicle also comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, and front parking sensors, ensuring safety and convenience on every drive.
Premium Interior and Build Quality
As you open the door, you’re greeted by a soft-touch leather finish on the door panels, along with premium-quality hard plastics. The overall fit and finish feel high-end. Inside, Tata offers a nine-speaker JBL sound system, 1-liter bottle holders in the doors, and powered windows with electronic ORVMs that auto-fold when the car is locked.
The driver seat offers six-way electronic adjustments, while the passenger seat is manually adjustable. Ventilated front seats enhance comfort, especially in Indian summers. Once seated, you’ll appreciate the minimalist yet sporty black interior theme.
Tech-Packed Cabin
The Curvv features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both screens are responsive and provide a wealth of information, from navigation to media and car settings. A four-spoke leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel adds a sporty touch, and the premium stitching on the leather feels great in hand.
The infotainment system supports voice commands, Bluetooth connectivity, and includes advanced features like ambient lighting (seen here in red), automatic climate control, wireless charging, and more. The infotainment layout is customizable, with options to monitor air quality (AQI), driving modes, and media settings. You also get auto-dimming IRVM and manual sun visors with mirrors.
The panoramic sunroof adds a sense of openness to the cabin, and overhead controls include SOS buttons and sunroof operation switches.
Driving Modes and Performance Display
Using the rotary drive mode selector, the Curvv allows you to switch between City, Eco, and Sport modes, each offering voice feedback on activation. You also get real-time power and torque display, trip info, and driver assist visuals in the instrument cluster.
The touch response of the infotainment system is decent—though not flawless. It occasionally lags, which could be improved with a software update. However, features like the 360-degree camera system offer a clear 3D view and multiple angle selections, a massive boon during tight parking manoeuvres.
Comfort and Space – Front and Rear
The dashboard has a combination of hard plastics and leatherette materials, with carbon-fibre-like textures around the AC vents. The manual transmission gear shifter has six speeds, and there’s a USB, USB-C port, and 12V charger for convenience. The center console portion, the electronic parking brake, auto hold function, and a wireless charger.
The headroom is decent for average-height passengers (around 5’8″), but taller passengers might feel the roofline closing in due to the coupe design. The leatherette upholstery is high quality, and the seats are nicely cushioned.
