Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements
- Nationality: Indian citizens only
- Minimum Qualifications: As per the Rules, 2025 and NCTE norms
- Gender Restriction: Male candidates are not eligible to apply for girls’ schools
- Reserved Categories: 5% relaxation in qualifying marks; must present valid caste/PWD certificates issued by West Bengal authorities

For Assistant Teachers (Classes IX & X)

- Graduation/Post Graduation with 50% marks + B.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution, OR
- 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. from an NCTE institution
- Age: 21 to 40 years (as of January 1, 2025)
- Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PH: 8 years
For Assistant Teachers (Classes XI & XII)
- Education:
- Post Graduation with 50% marks + B.Ed., OR
- Post Graduation with 50% + B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. from NCTE institution
- Age & Relaxation: Same as above

Selection Process

- Objective-type questions with 1 correct answer out of 4
- Set in English & Bengali (Sanskrit in Bengali only)
- Incorrect/blank OMR sheets will not be evaluated
- Academic Qualification Evaluation
- Oral Interview + Lecture Demonstration
- Merit List & Final Panel:
- Prepared category-wise, subject-wise, medium-wise, and gender-wise
- Based on total marks from written exam, academic scores, and interview
- Panel Validity: 1 year from the date of first counselling

Medium of Instruction Requirement
Candidates must have studied the medium of instruction (Bengali, Hindi, English, Nepali, Oriya, Urdu, Telugu, or Santhali) at an appropriate level, as per Rules, 2025.
